Creating positive energy to bring about well-being is the basis of this Oriental art, which is now becoming popular in India.
Are you looking to fill your abode with positive energy? Then go for feng shui décor.
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that uses the laws of heaven and earth to help improve a person's life by bringing in positive vibes.
Literally translated as windwater, Feng Shui is fast becoming the mantra of the day. One of the major objectives of Feng Shui is to strike a balance in one’s life, eliminating chaos and leading to calmness of mind.
Feng Shui is the art of placing objects and business in relation to energy flows, to heighten positive energies and minimize negative ones. Feng Shui is based on the interaction of Yin and Yang, the female and male forces along with the five elements and Chinese astrology. The purpose of Feng Shui is to enable a person to organize his home so that the all-pervading life force or the Ch'i energy, is accentuated by the positioning of the house, decorations, furniture, and other objects.
"People nowadays have become conscious about Feng Shui and about bringing positive energy into their lives," says Dr. Neelam, a Feng Shui expert. The art of making a house Feng Shui-compliant depends completely on the person's date of birth. Depending on that, a person's lucky and unlucky directions can be determined.
Dr. Neelam, who runs Bangalore based Sanskruti Holistic Centre, says every house has different corners. The south-west corner depicts love, and so, it should be energised by keeping rose-quartz and double happiness symbols. The north-east direction, on the other hand, depicts education and in order to fill it with positive energy, one should keep an education tower in that corner, Dr. Neelam adds.
The three-legged frog is considered to be a symbol of prosperity and should be kept in the living room near the front door. Also, flowing water is considered auspicious.
Plants are also considered auspicious from the Feng Shui point of view. Placing plants in the southeastern, eastern and southern corners of the work place increases growth prospects in one’s career.
Also, it is not advisable to put thorny plants and bonsai inside the house as they represent stunted growth.
For making a four bedroom apartment feng shui-compliant, Dr. Neelam charges Rs 12,000, which includes consultation fees and the materials. For a single bedroom and a double bedroom house, Dr. Neelam charges Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. The art of Feng Shui involves striking a balance of positive energy that can impact a person's career, relationships, health and wealth. The secret lies in the layout, orientation and alignment within one’s property.
Feng Shui brings about tangible changes into the lives of people and despite the misconception that it is only a Chinese myth, it has a scientific foundation. It harmonizes the relationship with the four elements ?? of fire, water, earth and fire.

Meditation on the Cartouche symbols can be rewarding if the type of meditation practiced is contemplative meditation. Once the meanings of the symbols are internalised and the myths belonging to the various gods and goddesses are known there will arise in the meditator's mind many images, intuitions and feelings, all of which will convey new insights into the nature of the Cartouche cards.
Cartouche may be used to send healing to others in need or to effect self-healing. Several Cartouche cards carry healing rays, but the three main ones are Horus, Bast and Thoth.
These cards are used for predictions with one Horoscope spread and a star spread. The Horoscope spread is one of the most popular layouts for any kind of divination, it assumes the shape of a birth chart and has 12 houses. Each House represents an area of life or experience. Through Horoscope spread we tell you about your Personality, Financial status, communication, Home environment, Marriage, Children, Career, Parents, friends, higher journeys, higher learning and Subconscious mind.
The Star spread is done when you are facing one particular problem. It tells you about the Cause of Problem, Nature of problem, factors to be considered, the solution or the end result of the problem.
Traditional therapists since thousands of years have used the power of Aura to diagnose and heal human body & mind. In parapsychology and in many forms of spiritual practice, an Aura is considered a field of subtle, luminous radiation supposedly surrounding a person or object. It is also described as the subtle body that surrounds our physical body. In Sanskrit language the root ‘Ar’ means “spoke of a wheel” indicating that the aura radiates from the body as the spokes of a wheel radiate from its hub.
The Aura is made of Prana which means “life sustaining force that is present in all living organisms and the universe”. Sources of prana are sunlight, air, water and food. Thought is the most refined and potent form of prana. When thoughts become more refined and spiritually attuned, pranic energy increases. Pranic energy is consistently replenished by every breath.. Positive affirmation, Prayers, Mantras increase the pranic energy and expands the aura. On the contrary, negative, harmful and bad speech decreases the energy field and shrinks the aura. Intensifying pranic energy increases vitality, health, power, influence, charisma, and will power.
Understanding the Aura
A vibrant, large, expanded, bright, smooth aura surrounds a healthy individual with abundant pranic energy. A small, contracted, dark, lethargic, sluggish aura surrounds a person who is ill, depressed or emotionally distressed. The level of consciousness of every living being depends on the frequencies of the prana it is capable of absorbing and storing. Animals have lower frequencies than human beings.
When we inhale, the prana enters the body and gets stored in the subtle energy centers. The more pranic energy you absorb, the more healing and vitality rushes to every cell. Deep meditation controls breathing and it becomes quiet, slow and regular. In the state of Samadhi the breath becomes so refined that it is imperceptible. In this state, the subtle body absorbs the most refined aspect of prana and opens the subtlest channels of pranic energy such a Sushumna nadi through which Kundalini can flow freely. When prana becomes refined, breath becomes sublime, blissfull and spiritually enriching.
